Dude, Where’s my TV? in the News

The Napanee Beaver:

EMC Northeast: Lennox and Addington may soon be without television signals

*One clarification regarding the OTA TV transition in Canada.   Although broadcasters are only required to switch to digital in the mandatory markets identified by the CRTC,  all broadcasters must stop analogue transmissions after August 31, 2011 unless they are outside of mandatory markets and they choose to continue broadcasting between channels 2 and 51.   All OTA TV broadcasting  in Canada (analogue or digital) between channels 52 and 69 will end after Aug 31.

My concern for L&A County is that OTA TV broadcasters likely won’t switch to digital outside of the CRTC’s mandatory markets and that they will either shut off the remaining analogue transmitters after August 31 or simply not repair them when they eventually break down.
